Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the nomination period for appointments to the Central Regional Service Board (CRSB) has now concluded. We extend our sincere thanks to all municipalities and local service districts for your timely participation and commitment to regional collaboration.
While nominations have been received for the majority of wards, not all wards received nominations during the initial period. To ensure full representation across the Central Region, we will be announcing an additional nomination period in the coming days.
The following individuals have been nominated to represent their respective wards:
Ward 1 – Councillor Marcus Hiscock – Municipality of Buchans
Ward 2 – Two nominations received, this ward will proceed with election process
– Mayor Denny Andrews – Municipality of Point Leamington
– Councillor Keith Humber – Municipality of Peterview
Ward 3 – No nominations received. A nomination period will be announced
Ward 4 – Mayor Andrew Shea – Municipality of Fogo Island
Ward 5 – Councillor Brittany Whelan – Municipality of Carmanville
Ward 6 – No nominations received. A nomination period will be annoumced
Ward 7 – Councillor Glenn Arnold – Municipality of Sandringham
Ward 8 – Mayor Percy Farwell – Municiupality of Gander
Ward 9 – Councillor Robert (Bob) Hiscock – Municipality of Grand Falls-Windsor
Ward 10 – Councillor William Tremblett – Municipality of Bishop’s Falls
Ward 11 – No nominations received. A nomination period will be announced
Ward 12 – No nominations received. A nomination period will be announced
Ward 2: We are now preparing for the next phase of the appointment process. As outlined in the Candidate Guide, the election period will begin with the official notice of candidates on Friday, October 31, 2025, and conclude with the voting deadline at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Each Municipality and Local Service District may cast one vote on behalf of their community for a candidate standing for election. Election results will be announced publicly on Friday, November 28, 2025. Please refer to the Candidate Guide for more information and 2025 Vote Declaration Form. We encourage all eligible voting bodies to review the candidate information provided and participate in the upcoming election process. Your engagement is essential to ensuring strong and representative governance across our region.
Ward 3,6,11,12: Details regarding the extended nomination timeline and procedures will be circulated shortly. We ask that municipalities and local service districts in the affected wards prepare to table this matter at their next council or committee meeting to support timely participation.
