2026 Holiday Schedule Changes
Good Friday – April 3, 2026
Collection for Hare Bay and Deadman’s Bay for Friday April 3, 2026 will be cancelled and resume on Friday April 10, 2026.
Victoria Day – May 18, 2026
Collection for New Wes Valley for Monday May 18, 2026, will be picked up on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Canada Day – July 1, 2026
New Wes Valley collection for Wednesday July 1, 2026 will be picked up on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Civic Holiday – August 3, 2026
New Wes Valley collection for Monday August 3, 2026 will be picked up on Tuesday August 4, 2026.
Labour Day – September 7, 2026
New Wes Valley collection for Monday September 7, 2026 will be picked up on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Thanksgiving – October 12, 2026
New Wes Valley collection for Monday October 12, 2026 will be picked up on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Remembrance Day – November 11, 2026
New Wes Valley collection for Wednesday November 11, 2026 will be picked up on Tuesday November 10, 2026.
Christmas/New Year’s Collection 2026/2027
Collection for New Wes Valley for Monday, December 28, 2026 and Tuesday, December 29, 2026 will be cancelled and resume on Monday, January 4, 2027 and Tuesday, January 5, 2027.
Collection for Hare Bay for Friday, December 25, 2026 and Friday, January 1, 2027 will be picked up as a double run on Tuesday, December 29, 2026.
General Regulations
- Bags must be placed at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on your collection day.
- Bags should be in a container or covered (check your town regulations for bag limits and type of containers permitted). Containers must be in good condition.
- Garbage and recycling bags must be regular size: 66 cm X 82.5 cm / 26” X 32.5”
- Each bag must not weight more that 22kg/50lbs.
- A transparent blue bag must be used for recyclable materials.
- A clear bag must be used for all other regular household garbage.
- Two small privacy bags (non-transparent) for disposal of sensitive materials are permitted inside each clear bag.
